MAC Costa Chic

I got this lipstick a few weeks ago using the 'Back to MAC' scheme. For those of you who don't know, you can take 6 MAC empties to a counter or store and receive a free lipstick of your choice! Whenever I do this, I try to go for a colour a little out of my comfort zone, which is why I chose Costa Chic.

Costa Chic is a frost formulation, which I actually quite like. It's a bright coral with a hint of pink and would be perfect for summer nights out or holidays. Although I rarely wear bright lipsticks, I like to have them in my collection, and I try to use them on my annual holiday to Spain- so Costa Chic is a very fitting name!

I really recommend this colour. MAC lipsticks are by far the best lipsticks around in my opinion, you can't really go wrong!

Little Birds..

Just a quick post to show you the outfit I was wearing yesterday. The weather was so nice I thought I'd get a few outfit photos taken to show you! As you can see, I've not quite got used to how hot it is now, I need some time to adjust my wardrobe!

The top was from Dorothy Perkins last year. Not a shop I normally go in but I was pleased to find this, the bird print is so sweet. It's a silky material and a little oversized which makes it a bit different from the other tops I own! The bag is my all time favourite from Zara, I'm not sure if you can still get it but it's so lovely! It's real leather, so it's very soft and the perfect size for an everyday bag.

I'm also wearing my new white studded shoes from Topshop. I have had the black ones for ages so I decided to get some white canvas ones for Summer. I've been waiting for the rain to stop to wear them but now the weather has improved I'm sure I'll get loads of wear out of them!

My red nails are a colour called 'Spicy Orange' from the L'Oreal Colour Riche range. Trust me, the colour is a lot more red, but with a hint of orange. I originally wanted Revlon's nail varnish in 'Red Bikini' after hearing it's a dupe for Chanel Holiday, but after holding it next to the L'Oreal colour, I couldn't see a difference and the L'Oreal one was half the price (there is also an offer in Superdrug for '2 for £6.99' at the moment on the L'Oreal Nail colours!). So perhaps it's a dupe for Chanel Holiday, I don't know!

If you haven't entered my GIVEAWAY for a River Island bag then click here! The contest is open until Saturday :)

I've got some more posts lined up which will be on my blog shortly so look out for them! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

I'm so excited, I can't honestly believe how far my blog has come in just one year. I think it's progressed so much and I love blogging more and more each day. As a thank you to all my lovely followers I wanted to do a giveaway to show my appreciation, because, as cliché as it sounds, I couldn't do it without you.

Some of you admired the River Island bag in my last post so I decided to get one to give away to one of my followers! Black is very classic and it can be a clutch or a day bag so it's really versatile!

So to be in with a chance to win this lovely bag all you have to do is:

1. Be a follower of my blog on Google Friend Connect
2. Comment on this post and leave your email address so I can contact you if you win
3. For a second entry, tweet about this giveaway, and in a separate comment leave the link to your tweet!

That's all you have to do! I'm so excited that my blog has reached the grand old age of one, so I hope you'll all share in my excitement by entering the giveaway! Best of luck :)

This giveaway ends at midnight on Saturday 28th July

Sorry, UK entries only

YSL Rouge Volupté- Fabergé Peach

I've been wanting a YSL Rouge Volupté for so long now. They look so pretty and the colours are gorgeous, so when I was in the airport waiting for my plane to France I decided to treat myself to one. I bought the colour Fabergé Peach which is No. 30. It's a beautiful soft peachy colour with a hint of pink (everything I wanted MAC Shy Girl to be and it wasn't). I was torn between this and Nude Beige but I thought I'd go for a colour a little different to the ones I already own- I think I'll get the other when I'm off to Spain in August!

This is everything I expected it to be, and more! The packaging is amazing, it looks so expensive (it was!) and pretty, I love seeing this sitting on my dressing table. The consistency of the lipstick is creamy and glossy- the perfect formulation! I've heard it can be quite drying but since I haven't been wearing it for more than a few hours at a time, I haven't noticed this. It smells delicious and fruity which is a change to the MAC vanilla smell (which I also love).

Overall this is a gorgeous lip product! Expensive, but worth the price if you fancy a treat.  I definitely want to try a pink/ nude next!

Have you ever tried a YSL lipstick? What are your thoughts?

A Touch Of Lace

These shorts were a find from Primark. I normally walk in and out of Primark in about 10 minutes as I don't think the quality of the clothes is very good at all, but every now-and-again, I find a really great purchase which ends up being a season staple. Last year it was my black 'leather-look' pleated skirt and now it's these beautiful lace shorts. They were £12 which is a bargain and so flattering. They even feel good quality and no one ever suspects they are Primark. I was in Primark yesterday and saw a whole rack of these shorts so I'm pretty sure they are still readily available, and worth a look!

I've accessorised once again with my pastel skull necklace and my spike bracelet from Topshop which I love (even though my family think it makes me look like a punk!). The Rose gold watch I mentioned in my other post is also a lot clearer here as well, it's so dainty and elegant, I love how it looks with this outfit. The clutch actually belongs to my mum (I'm very jealous of it!). It's such a gorgeous pastel mint green and also comes with a chain handle for everyday use, and it was only £18!

Finally, my phone case is the one I won from Camilla's (Into The Fold Fashion) giveaway. I love it so much and everyone comments on how lovely it is whenever I get my iPhone out in public.

I hope everyone's having a lovely week, I'm trying to get back into a blogging cycle so hopefully my posts will become a bit more regular from now on :)

Soft Focus

Hello, I'm back! Sorry for my absence, I've finally finished my exams and I've just come back from a long weekend in France which was lovely. Hopefully I'll be able to blog a lot more now, and I've got a few posts lined up already!

These pictures were taken in a gorgeous village called Andilliac in the Midi-Pyrannees, France. It was nice to get a different background for my outfit posts (I have a few more from France to come!).

I'm wearing Topshop tapered trousers and a Topshop cami with beaded sleeves which I found in the sale for £20. You can't get it on the website any more but you may be able to find it in the shops (which is what I did). Topshop also has a full priced one, in cream, rather than soft pink like mine. I love the soft pastel colours of this outfit and when the evening got a little cooler I put a nude blazer on which went really well with it.

The shoes are heeled sandals from River Island which are now in the sale. I'm also wearing a pastel skull necklace (also from the Topshop sale) and my new rose gold watch from River Island which I've been wearing every day! This was one of my favourite outfits I took with me. The trousers are very silky and worked really well in the warm weather. They're very good for this 'in-between' weather we've been having in England at the moment as well!
